UWSP - College of Natural Resources Wild Rice Harvesting Seminars
presented by Treehaven.
Explore the ancient art of wild rice harvesting! Come learn about the history, ecology, management and harvest of wild rice. Try your hand at gathering Manoomin using traditional methods.
Instructors are Peter and Lisa David, Manoonin Biolgists with the Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission.
***Harvest Permit Required BEFORE arrival from the DNR for $8.25***
Treehaven is situated in a unique wilderness setting, as it rests on a glacial ridge overlooking 1,400 acres of forest and wetlands. Treehaven offers many public and school programs, credit courses and professional development, and is also the home to the UW-Stevens Point College of Natural Resources summer field classes for students.
