Mid-State hosts arboriculture career exploration event
Arborist dual credit students from Auburndale High School recently enjoyed a unique training opportunity at the inaugural Tree Tech event at Mid-State Technical College. The showcase of arboriculture skills and careers was held at the Wisconsin Rapids Campus on Nov. 15. The Tree Tech event included hands-on activities in chainsaw training and wood processing as well as career exploration. Professional networking organization Women We Admire has named Mid-State Technical College President Dr. Shelly Mondeik to its list of Top Women Leaders of Wisconsin for 2024. The designation marks the second year in a row Mondeik has made the list. Mid-State celebrates renamed Stevens Point Downtown Campus
Mid-State Technical College’s Stevens Point campus will now feature “downtown” in its official name. The College formalized the new name, Stevens Point Downtown Campus, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 7. The event also kicked off the beginning of a year-long celebration of the 10th anniversary of the move to downtown. Meat Cutting and Butchery grant funding continues at Mid-State
Grant funding for Mid-State Technical College’s Meat Cutting and Butchery certificate will continue this spring, making the program free for the next cohort of students starting in January. Funding for the certificate is provided by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) Meat Talent Development Grant. Spring and winterim registration now open at Mid-State
Registration is now open for Mid-State Technical College’s winterim and spring terms. The College is emphasizing its ability to help new and continuing students find a perfect fit for their life and career goals. Winterim classes begin Jan. 2 and spring classes begin Jan. 20. Students can earn up to four credits in just three weeks during the winterim term with over 50 course sections being offered. Winterim is an opportunity to lighten the spring credit load or get ahead in program credits. It is also a
