Delis Counseling Group Celebrates Grand Opening While Building the Kind of Supervision Team New Therapists Deserve

Community invited to meet the growing team, tour the new space, and celebrate on Friday, August 7

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. — Delis Counseling Group will celebrate the grand opening of its new Wisconsin Rapids location on Friday, August 7, with an open house, ribbon cutting, food, refreshments, giveaways, raffle baskets, interactive activities, useful therapy tools, and a confetti cannon.

The open house will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 1910 7th Street South. The Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce will lead a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon.

Guests will be able to tour the counseling and wellness space, learn more about the practice’s services and future programs, and meet owner Candace Delis along with the practice’s growing team: Janelle Tubbs, Michele Losey, Alana Stewart, and counseling intern Olivia Grube.

“This is not just about opening a building,” Delis said. “It is about creating a place where clients can receive therapy that feels honest, useful, and connected to real life—and where developing therapists can receive the support they deserve.”

Delis Counseling Group opened in May and provides practical, inclusive, and individualized mental health counseling in Wisconsin Rapids. The practice is now expanding its team while developing a collaborative supervision program for Licensed Professional Counselors–In Training, commonly known as LPC-ITs, and graduate counseling students.

Janelle is currently seeing clients at the practice. Michele will begin seeing clients on August 14, Alana will join the practice in mid-September, and Olivia will begin her practicum and internship in September.

Janelle, Michele, and Alana provide therapy under clinical supervision as LPC-ITs.

“Being an LPC-IT should not mean being handed a caseload, receiving the minimum required supervision, and being expected to figure out everything else alone,” Delis said. “We want therapists who want more—more support, more collaboration, more honest feedback, and more opportunities to grow.”

The practice’s supervision model emphasizes regular support, meaningful feedback, collaboration with other clinicians, exposure to different clinical perspectives, and guidance through the practical parts of becoming a therapist that graduate school cannot always fully prepare someone to manage.

“The goal is not just to help people collect enough hours to become independently licensed,” Delis said. “We want to help them become confident, capable therapists who feel supported enough to ask questions, admit when they do not know something, and keep getting better. When therapists are supported, clients benefit too.”

Janelle works with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, and life transitions. Her approach is warm, practical, and down to earth, with an emphasis on helping clients understand patterns, develop coping skills, and make realistic changes.

Michele works with children, adolescents, and adults. She brings strong community connections and a grounded, approachable style, creating a space where clients can speak honestly, feel understood, and work toward changes that make sense in their actual lives.

Alana will work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, low self-esteem, life transitions, and personal growth challenges. Her approach is supportive, welcoming, and tailored to each client.

Olivia is pursuing a Master of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through the University of Wisconsin–Superior. She will gain supervised clinical experience while completing her graduate training.

In addition to counseling services, Delis Counseling Group is developing lower-level wellness spaces for practitioners interested in providing whole-person care. The practice is also preparing to launch Wild Resilience, a nature-based wellness program focused on outdoor experiences, confidence, skill building, and self-reliance.

Grand-opening guests will get an early look at what is being developed while meeting the people behind the practice.

“We want people to come in, look around, ask questions, meet all of us, eat something, take home something useful, and see what we are building,” Delis said. “The Chamber’s ribbon cutting includes a confetti cannon, which seems to match our vibe pretty well.”
