Mid-State brings back popular Metal Mania free summer training program

Mid-State Technical College will again host its free Metal Mania machining training program this summer. The five-credit local certificate, Metal Mania: Milling, is fully sponsored by the Gene Haas Foundation Scholarship and will run from June 9 to July 31. 

The 10 available seats for the free training are open to high school and college students as well as those interested in the field of machining. Learners will complete courses in safety, measurement and layout, milling machines, and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) mills setup and operation. 

Upon completion of the Metal Mania courses, participants will earn the Metal Mania: Milling local certificate and five Mid-State Precision Machining Technician program credits.
