Mid-State’s Dr. Mandy Lang named a Top Woman Leader in Education for 2026

Dr. Mandy Lang, vice president of student success, strategic marketing and government relations at Mid-State Technical College, has been named one of the Top Women Leaders in Education of 2026 by Women We Admire.

The national recognition celebrates women whose leadership helps learners navigate educational systems, overcome barriers and move forward at every stage of learning. Honorees represent colleges, universities, education-focused companies and community organizations across the country.

“Mandy is an exceptional leader whose commitment to students is evident throughout Mid-State,” said Dr. Shelly Mondeik, president of Mid-State Technical College. “She brings people together around a clear vision, challenges us to continually improve and keeps student success at the center of every decision. This recognition is well deserved and reflects the meaningful difference Mandy’s leadership has made for our students, the college and the communities we serve.”

Lang leads collegewide efforts focused on supporting students from their first connection with Mid-State through graduation and beyond. Her work brings together enrollment management, student support services, marketing and communications and government relations to expand access, strengthen the student experience and build pathways connecting education with careers and regional workforce needs.

Women We Admire highlighted several outcomes achieved during Lang’s tenure, including an increase in Mid-State’s high school transition rate from 9 percent to 20 percent, a 40 percent increase in student headcount over the last 10 years and a total headcount of reaching 10,000 students in fiscal year 2026.

“While I am grateful for this recognition, the most meaningful part of this work is seeing students gain confidence, overcome barriers and create new possibilities for themselves and their families,” said Lang. “That impact is made possible by people across Mid-State who believe deeply in our students and in the power of education to strengthen our communities. I feel fortunate to lead alongside them.”

Lang previously served as assistant director of student services at the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County and worked at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an MBA advisor and operations assistant.

She earned a doctor of education in educational leadership from Edgewood University, a master of science in education, adult education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
